Review of Self/less (2015) by Freemanash — 09 Jul 2015
The entirety of Self/less for myself was a film that could have easily been something bigger but really didn't have the willpower to make it so. While the concept isn't the most original, the pseudo-realistic universe that was created could have been utilized better if the creators tried to make it bigger.
Ryan Reynolds was able to play his character very well, but wasn't able to shine through it because of how bland of dialogue the writers gave him. This movie made me feel average after leaving the theatre and I almost forgot that I had seen it.
The main reason I am giving this a 5 over a 4 is because of the soundtrack: the drum-and-bass esque beats accompanied by smooth, swallowing guitar sounds give the movie a great atmosphere. I'd recommend seeing it on Netflix at least once, but nothing more than that.
