Review of Seeking Justice (2011) by Brad S — 24 Dec 2012
So the question is why oh why would I ever watch another Nicolas Cage movie. The answer ... I don't know, I guess I just keep hoping I'll stumble across a decent movie. Unfortunately Seeking Justice wasn't the answer I was looking for.
After his wife is sexually assaulted Will is approached by a stranger who claims he is willing to seek retribution for his wife's assault. The only thing Will needs to commit to is be prepared to return the favour.
You can kind of see how with a plot like this the movie was never going to go any where. With regards to acting, January Jones, who plays Will's wife, seems to be going through the motions. Guy Pearce is decent but you can't help but wonder why he signed on for this project.
And Cage is Cage - somewhat one dimensional and you always get the feeling he's trying to hard to reclaim his past glory. Seeking Justice is not the way to do - I wish Cage would wait for the right script instead of putting out low budget marginal movies, I think it would do wonders for his floundering career.
Until that time comes I will keeping on Seeking a Good Nicolas Cage movie - if I wait for it, it will come.
