I was a bit apprehensive about watching this so soon after The 40 Year Old Virgin and being so disappointed with Carell... but actually his performance was the one of only two things that I enjoyed - the other being Martin Sheen! But it was only that those performances.
Knightley, well it wasn't so much her as the character - I found her so irritating: the eye-rolling was excessive and her quirkiness was overkill. I was actually considering turning it off 20minutes from the end as I just didn't care about them.
Massive let down - but I think I knew it was going to be!
