This one had its obvious ups and downs though out so it's a little hard for me to judge but here's my interpretation:

This movie really has two story lines that are very well intertwined.

The first of the two would be the classic "Mom has to leave all of the sudden and the only available person to watch her kid(s) is the irresponsible/immature neighbor" storyline (also used in John Candy's "Uncle Buck", just incase you like that stuff). Like most actors who have been faced with this particular plot, David Arquette and Angus T. Jones handled their roles to perfection with great humor as well as the occasional serious moment.

The Second of the two storylines was about a dog that has left the FBI and is on the lookout for mob bosses while at the same time, his "partner" (Michael C. Duncan) is missing him like crazy. This is where the storyline took a dark turn for me. Not only did I find this aspect of the movie horrible to watch, but also they could have picked anyone better than Michael Duncan for this role. When I think of Michael Duncan and all of his past movie roles, I think "Badass" or "killer." This role was anything but that and completely wasted Michael Duncan?s great talent.

Overall it was still a good movie. The comical chemistry between David, Angus, and also Anthony Anderson (Gordy's post office sidekick) made up for the slip ups resulting in a still pretty good film.
