Review of Secrets & Lies (1996) by Burcu S — 20 Nov 2008

Very 90's tv film/drama, that due to its bleak and morose tone makes it seem even more distance. Akin to Alan Bennett 80's work on working class, and hard hitting issues; the topics are all relevant to 90's britain albeit not particular attractive ones.

The acting, and the script are astounding, although Blethyn grated on me a bit; with a few other niggles. Quite difficult to watch, nothing immediate relative but its a solid english drama.
