I'm from Argentina, I just saw Secret in Their Eyes, and I loved it. However it's not a bad thriller, I think the criticism is unfair, the changes are well adapted to the reality and history of USA.
I've seen a lot worse in better rated thillers. I don't know where all this hate comes from?
