Review of Secret in Their Eyes (2015) by Vic V — 18 Feb 2016
Despite the celeb-heavy cast this film played like a whole bunch of loose ends never tied up even up to and past the end. Ironically Ms. Roberts quips "Passion wins" yet Mr. Ejiofor and Ms. Kidman didn't ravish each other when they should have since we could feel the chemistry and the teasing lust was palpable.
Mr. Molina simply cannot be a bad guy and he was totally miscast. The rest of the film was a pointless ghost chase since we never knew what was what with the two agencies vying for control of witnesses and confusing actual murder against a potential threat of a crime - what is known as "high jingo" or politics meets the police.
Some great LA Dodger nostalgia from Mr. Norris though.
