Review of Secret in Their Eyes (2015) by Ryan F — 13 Feb 2018
This was painfully boring. The synopsis made it seem interesting but from the get go, it was pretty hard to even get into it. the timeline was all over the place and without any notice so you go from one day to 1p years prior and the next scene is a different time and you only realize when the dialogue makes zero sense.
half way through, it felt like nothing was happening. There is a suspect from a picture but then some random confesses and it's believed by everyone despite the blatant holes in the story. The supposed guilty dude is still pursued by the one rogue "cop" but even that made no sense.
This character was just kinda there, there was no suspense, no intrigue, no real plot twists. it was like watching golf on TV. Boring and predictable sort of. By the 3/4 Mark, I just didn't care anymore about what happened and turned it off.
I expected better.
