Review of Secret Honor (1984) by Heath D — 04 Jun 2007
An adaptation of a one-man stage play. Philip Baker Hall, playing Richard Nixon post-Watergate, talks drunkenly into a tape recorder (and to himself) for 90 minutes. Amazingly, that turns out to be just about the most compelling 90 minutes ever committed to film.
I've seen it three times and felt like I was seeing it anew every time, since there's so much to absorb. Highly recommended.
