Review of Searching (2018) by Erin A — 31 Aug 2018
John Cho gives a solid performance. He superbly makes the parental angst of losing a child palpable. He brings the fear, suspicion, desperation and paranoia to light in a believable way. We desperately need to see more of Cho in leading roles.
The director does a fantastic job highlighting red hearings and providing foreshadowing that makes the experience entirely satisfying.
The only thing holding the film back is the pacing of the final act. But don't let that stop you from enjoying this greatest thriller for the age of social media.
