Review of Seabiscuit (2003) by Tara S — 24 Sep 2010
The true story of Seabiscuit gets the Hollywood makeover, but it doesn't give a song and dance about it. It rather underplays every event which is done very well and gives the film a softer feel. The film is about the underdog Seabsicuit and Red Pollard his jockey, who went on to become beacons of hope in the Depression of America.
Maguire is great but the real star is Bridges who lights up the screen every time he appears. A lovely tale of overcoming adversity.
