To basically sum it all up, I think that "Sea of Love" is definitely an essential Al Pacino flick. It's everything that you could want in a crime suspense/thriller. It's a roll that Pacino definitely does well, and it's very evident, with this film.

So basically theres theres this killer who's going around killing men naked facing down in there beds, and Pacino knows there coming from an add in a local newspaper. He joins up with John Goodman, because Goodman found a man who was killed through the same situation. They plan to catch the killer through adds in the dating section. This is where Pacino meets Ellen Barkin, one of the woman, who he falls for, but at the same time feels the constant paranoia that she may be the killer. For a plot, you couldn't get any more original, and I love this kind of stuff. It's intense, and you really do have no idea what's going to happen.

To further add to the awesome premise, we have pretty good performances by Pacino and Goodman. They both do the job perfectly. Barkin is not as good, but with her witty/sexy style she totally has enough class to keep up with everyone else in the movie. It's totally awesome....how many times am I going to say awesome?

Anyway, this movie really does know how to deliver disconcerting thoughts. I absolutely had no idea what was coming. The movie makes you believe certain things, and then it flips it to make you think something else. It's brilliant, and the movie does everything that a film from this genre is SUPPOSED to do. Harold Becker did a great job with this.

Anyway, "Sea of Love" was an awesome flick. It's one of Al Pacino's awesome movies, in his huge arsenal of fantastic movies. This is definitely a movie to see. "Sea of Love" keeps you guessing from start to finish, and yes...through all of that guessing....the movie is still able to have class.....awesome.
