Review of Se7en (1995) by Wesley W — 04 May 2014
One of the best films of its genre and the best psychological thriller to come around since The Silence of the Lambs. Se7en succeeds so well at being an intense, gripping, thought provoking, and memorable crime thriller.
David Fincher's directing, the cast, and Howard Shore's haunting score drive this film. The script and story are both engaging and they keep you hooked on the screen, even after the haunting and gripping finale.
There were scenes that left me breathless because of how shocking they were and after the movie ends, it is one that you will not easily forget. Brad Pitt, Morgan Freeman, and Kevin Spacey are the standouts acting wise and they all succeed at giving great performances.
This and Fight Club for me remain David Fincher's best work and I will continue to look forward to his future projects.
