Review of Scrooged (1988) by Tyler W — 12 Dec 2010
This movie got a few laughs out of me, but not as much as I would have liked. It felt more like a drama with a very heavy message throughout the movie. Murray's fifteen minute monolgue at the end of the movie really made it evident what kind of message this film was trying to get across, and it worked for the most part.
The only problem is i've seen films like this before and don't really care about the sentimental crap. I know it's unfair to say that, and it would be a different if I had seen this as a young child growing up.
I could see this being "the Christmas movie" to watch every year, but that isn't the case with myself. The film still had my attention and fascinated me with how the story was told. It was done well and deserves at least one viewing.
