Review of Scrooged (1988) by Brett B — 27 Dec 2016
Bill Murray is funny as always and that alone makes the movie a must see. As a Christmas movie though and as an adaptation of A Christmas Carol it fails. Both require a strong infusion of xmas spirit and some pulling of the heart strings.
Scrooged doesn't have a Christmasy feel to it and even though it shows a frozen man and a mute boy the comedy adds too much levity. The story is laughed at and not felt.
