One of my favorite Christmas films and since Ted Turner took it upon hi...(read more) mself to play "A Christmas Story" so many times it's almost impossible not to start hating it a little, maybe my favorite Christmas film.
It's a very dark, Christmas comedy which is how I like it "Nightmare Before Christmas", "Hogfather", etc, but like Dickens novel the darkness, makes the sun all the brighter next Christmas mourn.
Richard Donner helped out as an architect of my childhood fantasies with this movie, "The Goonies", and the first two "Superman" movies.
A good holiday film is only measurable by the amount of nostaliga and sentimentality it evokes years later, and this does the trick fine. Let's staple some fake antlers to the heads of mice, and celebrate!
