Review of Scrooge (1970) by Jim M — 28 Dec 2007
A McCann family Christmas tradition - in my youth it was televised and we'd sit down together to watch it. (The Ghost of Christmas Yet to Come always scared the crap out of me...).
Now as an adult, I can watch it both with an affinity for the tradition and also with a critical eye. Albert Finney delivers an absolute gem of a performance - I catch a new subtlety or nuance of his delivery with every new viewing. The songs are infectious, and you'll be humming the tunes long after the final credits roll. Easily my favorite holiday movie...
