Review of Scream 3 (2000) by Andreas O — 07 Aug 2011
While the second film was justified enough, Scream 3 was not an entirely welcome addition to the franchise. The jokes and scares feel repetitive and, while it discusses the conventions of the concluding parts of trilogies, the meta-contextual stuff doesn't work nearly as well here.
Mainly, perhaps, because the movies paid homage to seldom restrict themselves to trilogy rules. Not a terrible movie, but the novelty has worn off by now.
