Review of Scotland, PA (2001) by Brandon R — 15 Aug 2009
A film destined to be a cult classic, and though I don't absolutely love it as it does drag on in places, I do think it's a great film.
A pretty well-done adaptation of Shakespeare's McBeth, set in the boondocks of 70s America. A lot of good acting in this movie... the cast was wery well picked out. And it's finally different.
The qualms I have with this movie are the following. One, they used a lower quality camera than the GL2s we film with at school. Maybe they were going for that grainy 70s look. Two, the film starts to hit a lot of drag points near the end of Act 2.
The cheeseburger scene is hilarious, as is the murder itself.
"Duncan's escaping. Go get him.".
