Review of Scooby-Doo! The Mystery Begins (2009) by Keith B — 15 Sep 2011
I enjoyed it. None of the things I loved so much about the cartoon were lost by turning it into a live-action movie. They even went so far as to recreate almost shot for shot the classic scooby doo opening from 1969 at the end of the film.
and it was pretty cool to mix it up by having some of the goings on be actually paranormal. that was always my one complaint with the cartoon as a kid. just once I wanted it to be a REAL ghost, not just some guy in a mask.
in this one, we get the guy in the mask AND some real ghosties. they did a pretty good job of explaining how kids so diffferent from each other could actually end up friends too. I liked seeing the gang come together.
my one nit-pick-why does freddy suddenly have black hair instead of blonde?
