Review of School Daze (1942) by Dave R — 06 Feb 2012
I don't know what this was really about besides bringing up the levels of black consciousness at the time - the plot is a mess; full of holes. on my occasions we see confrontations based on differences in points of view.
while some of it is interesting it doesn't really lead anyway. lee seems to be channeling some the tension he would later use more successfully in "do the right thing" - the final shot in this film even mirrors the ending of "do the right thing".
in both films we see representatives of differing political views come together in a way.
