Review of Schindler's List (1993) by Rebecca P — 12 Nov 2012
I watched this movie for my world religion class and like all the other movies we have had to watch and review I was speechless with its greatness. The movie was both heart-warming and heart-breaking all at the same time.
The best part was it was a true story about a man and his transformation about the value of life. This movie was the perfect example of how it only takes one person to make a difference. Changing for the better and leading an example for a lifetime.
It was breathtaking to watch Mr. Schindler go from greedy to giving his fortune away to save his friend and employees from the Nazi's and the concentration camps. All the lying and manipulation Schindler went through to protect them from the torture that all the other Jews faced with this evil and risking his own life going against the other German's.
The scene where Schindler watched the round -up of the Jews in the ghetto from a far was something unexplainable. It broke my heart to watch the little girl in the red coat dip and dodge the Nazi's to go and hide and I believe it broke Schindler's heart as well.
The scenes of the camps were awful and Goeth was evil with a capital E! How terrible was he to torture the Jews and I can't imagine how many more was like him through-out all the camps. He used the Jewish people as target practice for fun.
It was an excellent choice to film this movie in black and white with an occasional hint of color to express emotion. The music was dynamite through-out the entire movie. Shows how strong the Jewish people are with all they have been through since the beginning of time.
I want one day show this movie to my children so they can see the beauty and the horror the world has to offer.
