Review of Scent of a Woman (1992) by Sujit O — 26 Jun 2013
Al Pacino's oscar winning poreformance. Scent of a women is based on those dramatic movies where the ending is obvious from the beginning. But where this movie rises is how we get to that point. Although extremely slow paced, its not one bit dragging probably because of Pacino's acting. Scent of a women takes a ride into the life of a man, lost of all hope and in need of nothing more in life than the love of a women.
However this movie dwells deeper into the relationship between Lt. Col. Frank Slades a blind army veteran who sees no reason for his existence and Charlie Simms a poor student with his own string of problems.
By the end, the feelings between the characters feels so genuine and really gives some food for thought.
