Review of Scarlet Street (1945) by Juli N — 18 Sep 2014
Edward G. Robinson plays against type, Joan Bennett plays a slightly horrible floozy, and Dan Duryea plays a heel. There's some improbable art, a dead detective whose body was never found, and a LOT of shadows from window signs. Also, glass pocket doors and transoms. Lots of transoms. How can you go wrong?
This movie still holds up.
