Review of Scarface (1983) by Kerby H — 30 Apr 2013
Just like the Godfather before it this is over rated & tediously too long! Thankfully, unlike the Godfather, we are spared any sequels. This is supposed to be an iconic movie of the eighties & the daddy of gangster movies.
Thankfully anything spawned from this, take a bow Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, has been so much better. The story focuses on Tony Montana, a Cuban refugee, as he leaves Communist Cuba to find the American Dream! We follow his rise & fall from nothing to Drug Overlord.
But like all before him his reign is short lived as he bites off more than he can chew & is soon facing death as others seek to cash in on Miami's drug trade.
