Review of Scarface (1932) by Scott V — 12 Aug 2014

When I first saw this film years ago, I have to admit.......I didn't like it very much. The other night, I watched the original Howard Hawks version on TMC and then decided that I wanted to rewatch the '83 version (30 years later!) and give it another chance.

Guess what? This time I really really liked it! Originally I think the violence turned me off but now it really doesn't seem all that bad. I've seen worse things on television shows lately! Anyway.

.....it took a while but I now can appreciate DePalma's dark masterpiece.
