Interesting premise, some cool gore and related effects, terrible acting for the most part, and ultimately a little too cheesy. Familiar Cronenberg ground though, gory sci-fi horror. The only thing the blueprints missing is sex/nudity.
This is an early effort from the director and he would hone his craft as his career progressed, peaking with The Fly. For fans of the director though, this is required viewing.
