Review of Saw V (2008) by Jaws N — 17 May 2012
Saw V is one of my favorites in the franchise for several reasons. Agent Strahm is probably one of the first advisaries to really start putting all the pieces of the puzzle together. He also has the brains and survival skills to match wits with Jigsaw's protege.
The feaured victim in this installment is Julie Benz who most people know from Dexter, but I've followed her since her Buffy'Angel days. She's also a smart player to tries to think with her head and not her gut.
The traps she and a group of others must navigate are effective enough, but only a handful of them stand out. However, they are really good. The film's tagline is "You won't believe how it ends.
" is a little silly as there are no huge twists to be revealed. The plan of Jigsaw's protige is no secret and events unfold prett much according to plan. However the final trap is incredibly effective.
This film definitely lives up to the promise set up by Saw IV.
