Review of Saw III (2006) by Mohammad A — 23 May 2016
They have an even BIGGER budget. Tobin Bell is back as Jigsaw/John, who is now lying on his death bed. The film feels fresh when it comes to the storyline and traps but it's been done before, still great to watch.
The Rack is my fave Trap using great special effects and make-up. It may be a tad over-the-top with the gore but now that's the whole point of these films. Yet another awesome twist after another.
Shawnee Smith and Donnie Wahlburg now making it into the fan-base of the Saw Characters. It's the cast that makes it good as the acting really makes the traps look painful. Rarely third films in horror that works but this is another great edition and once again written by James Wan and Leigh Whannell (Saw, Saw II).
God or Jack Valenti only knows how this work of pure entertainment got an R rating 'for strong grisly violence and gore, sequences of terror and torture, nudity and language.' Yes, it's not going to be for everyone but I just love the plots in these films and their twists.
Great edition to the series and probably the most stomach churning out the lot. Love these films, maybe I'm just twisted :D Great gory stuff and very well done.
