I tend to disagree with the general trends of the critic ratings on this film. Yes, Saw is in some ways a sadistic, glorified, snuff movie. But it is hard to ignore the massive influence that Saw has had not only on horror films, but in movies in general.
The mecca twist at the end is so unpredictable and perfectly done, and it is worth the blood and guts getting there. Horror fan or not, this movie is worth a look, if you can stomach it.
