The first and undoubtedly the best of the gruesome franchise. It lacks the gore that would dominate the sequels with a stronger focus on plot. It has a great cast including excellent performances from Cary Elwes and Danny Glover.
there are lots of great plot turns and one of the most memorable endings I've ever seen in a film. A smart, original and gripping horror film with a fantastic soundtrack.
