Review of Saw (2003) by Andrew B — 24 Nov 2015
This is where it all began, well I think it did anyway. In truth Saw has a lot to answer for but then again you could level the sam accusation against Halloween. At the time, Saw was an inventive horror film which proved a timely diversion from the post-Scream slew of teen-slasher flicks that has inhabited the genre.
As with all things though a slew of 'torture-porn' films would follow Saw. It is testament to the qualities that Saw posesses that it remains one of the best horror films of the new millenium.
