Review of Saving Silverman (2001) by Ron K — 03 Jun 2012
If you're looking for something that transcends the art of cinema go see Apocalypse Now or Citizen Kane. If you are looking for an hour and a half of laughs go see Saving Silverman. Sure the plot makes no sense but it was never meant to.
Thank goodness for what we amateur film reviewers call the willing suspension of disbelief. You won't really care that it doesn't make sense. You will only care that the principals are funny, that Silverman is being saved from a creepy woman who will remind you of at least one that you went out with and that the coach will remind you of every psychotic gym teacher you ever had.
It was worth every nickle of the buck I paid for it at a yard sale. So, go out on Saturday next and see if you can find a copy of this hidden gem. Eighteen on the rottenometer, my buttocks.
