Review of Saving Mr. Banks (2013) by Andrew R — 02 Jan 2015
Saving Mr Banks is a great film where we have the opportunity to see Tom Hanks bring Walt Disney to life as he tries to turn P.L. Travers Marry Poppins book into a film. Emma Thompson does an outstanding job playing Travers.
Travers true pain and anger at the world can be seen and we can also see how the founder of the happiest place on earth can be manipulative at times. This film dives into the emotions and history behind Travers's Mary Poppins.
The only small issue with this film is the going back and forth between the present and past. Sometimes it seems out of rhythm. Other than that flaw Saving Mr Banks is a great film with outstanding performances all around.
