Review of Saving Mr. Banks (2013) by Kevin A — 17 Jan 2015
First off, it was a joy to see Tom Hanks on screen portraying Walt Disney (easily my favorite part of the movie). As for the movie itself, I'm certain some librities with the accuracy of the source material had to be taken in order to make this movie work.
What's interesting is that this notion is in line with the spirit of the movie, which makes it all the more justified. The flashback scenes do mess with the pacing from time to time, yet, I can't imagine this movie being made without them making them a necessary evil.
If you're at all a fan of Mary Poppins or Walt Disney, then you definitley can't afford to pass this one up.
