Review of Saving Face (2004) by Ronnie P — 13 Nov 2008
An Asian family living in NYC some breaking traditions and some trying to uphold them. Mostly revolves around a Mother and her daughter (and mom has a secret and has shamed her father - and daughter has a secret and shames her mother) All that being said, they learn from one another.
This was a cute romantic / situation comedy - American made, but you need the subtitles for the Chinese spoken between family members. This little independent film was a directorial debut for Alice Wu (who also scripted it) and both interesting & comical.
