Review of Savages (2012) by Natalie B — 03 Jan 2013
Savages is a film of how far one will, or in this case two, longtime friends go to save the one thing they have in common, a girl. Savages build a great story of how all that is shown in the opening sequences, came to be.
Once Ophelia (O for short) is kidnapped for reasons I don't want to spoil, the two begin to show their bond and true test of character to save the girl they both unconditionally, love. Just as real as the relationship the three main characters have between each other, everything else is equally on par.
Savages is R rated, as it should be (nudity, etc) but for the films story to truly come across on screen it's without a doubt justifiable. For being a action film, its narration makes the film seem anything but.
All in all, Savages, blends the best of story, style, and action. I mean what action movie do you know that ends with the classic Beatles song, "Here comes the sun"?
