Review of Savages (2006) by Jamie P — 17 Jul 2009
Linney and Hoffman ... the dynamic duo!! I love them both and they are terrific in this film. The movie is a bit heavy though. With wonderfully "subtle" references to Peter Pan (the main characters are named Jon & Wendy), The Savages explores the realities of growing old and needing to be taken care of by others.
It's not a particularly feel-good-movie, but it has plenty of darkly funny moments.
