Review of Savages (2006) by Derek B — 10 Sep 2010
Interesting and entertaining melodrama which explores sibling relationships, ageing and the changing roles of parents and children, but without getting too precious about it. Sensitively made and worth a watch, but also curiously uninvolving at an emotional level.
It was nice to see Gbenga Akinnagbe in a sympathetic role - I've only ever seen him in The Wire (as the multiple murderer Chris Partlow).
