Review of Savage Grace (2007) by Melodye R — 14 Jul 2008
Julianna Moore holds together this film of the tortured relationship between the Anthony Baekeland and his mother. Moore seems to have revived something from her Boogie Night days. the disturbing content however is off putting (incest, obscenity, idle rich behaving badly and mental illness).
However, the emptiness of the other family characters beyond Moore's character and lack of exploration of nature of their mental illness leaves the narrative wanting.
