Review of Savage Grace (2007) by Silvia Y — 16 Jul 2008
Though beautifully shot and superbly acted, the story seems to be told sole because it is shocking. There is nothing to be garnered here. The characters are drawn so exclusively that we never really know what or how or why they act the way they do.
This is mainly a screenplay issue, a screenplay which also suffers from forced bourgeoisie phrases that sit uncomfortably in the mouths of the characters. Interesting, but not worth a second time around.
