Review of Savage Grace (2007) by Vijay M — 17 Jul 2008

Zzzzzz. Thank the stars for Julianne, cos this would be one boring flick without her. She's an absolute powerhouse of an actor, totally unafraid and 100% committed to any role she takes, but her formidable skills are just not enough for this movie.

I blame the scriptwriter (I know this film is based on a book) who should've written an adaptation with the big screen in mind. And I blame the director, who just couldn't inject enough compelling and interesting stuff onto the screen.

Having said that, there are some memorable moments, and Julianne's character letting loose is about all of them. Including the controversial bit. Guys, take your mom to see this on Mother's Day; I guarantee an interesting time.
