Review of Savage Grace (2007) by Adrian S — 19 Jul 2008
Some fine performances but little exploration of why these characters did what they did make for a curate's egg of a film.
The coldness and faux affection of the massively wealthy unravel three quite unlikeable characters as they each descend into a personal hell that culiminates in a quite shocking cocktail of sex and death.
Moore and Redmayne provide powerful central performances but their, presumably quite accurate, portyal of two deeply damaged people makes them very difficult to relate to ... which is probably a good thing!
