Although Julianne Moore delivers a solid performance as a bitter and resentful wife, the movie is not well constructed as to cause the controversy it purportedly tries to create among the audience. The movie feels tedious, boring and while "shocking" towards the ending, we have lost enough interest for anyone to care about the final act of incest and perversion in an extravagant family setting.
