Review of Saturday Night Fever (1977) by Mikey M — 19 Mar 2012
Often misunderstood as a naive portrayal of American youth with a groovy soundtrack. It is in fact a carefully constructed rite-of-passage. Enter the world of this film through Travolta's superb characterisation of Tony - his dreams and aspirations are real.
Timeless because the ideals of this film are bang up to date, even if the clothes and music are of their time.
