Review of Satan's Little Helper (2005) by Corey B — 12 Mar 2010
Some people say you shouldn't judge a book by its cover. I wish the same was true for Satan's Little Helper, but what you see on the poster is what you get. I wouldn't say that this movie is on nearly a bad level such as Troll 2 or Microwave Massacre, but it makes the least appealing Hollywood horror effort look somewhat respectable.
Satan's Little Helper was entertaining in a "not so great horror film" kind of way, just not satisfying in a "this movie is really bad that I can make fun of it" way. Nothing absolutely ridiculous happens in the movie that is truly worthy of getting together with friends and joking about it, but that is not a compliment either.
The beginning of the film has "so bad its good" potential, but it continually gets less interesting and more predictable. Personally, I found the ending to be completely unsatisfying, and endings are crucial in horror movies. Its surprising that Amanda Plummer is in Satan's Little Helper, and she may very well be the best part of the movie.
