Sarah's Key is curiously like two entirely separate movies. The first, which ends with Sarah's return to Paris is deftly handled. It is powerful, harrowing cinema. The second, which begins with the appearance of Aiden Quinn as Sarah's son is like a melodramatic soap opera.

Atrocious acting and a once over lightly sweep of 'what finally happened' left me cringing. The first part well deserves all the four star ratings the movie is receiving, the second no more than a one-at a push! To avoid my same disappointment, leave the theatre with 20 minutes to go!
