Review of Santa Sangre (1989) by Jonathan S — 06 May 2009
Jodorowsky exercises restraint and gives us symbols that are much easier to swallow in this surreal study on how the past (and past allegiances and trauma) can devour our future. It's a dark story with a lot of emotion pumping through it.
Jodorowsky seems to specialize in exploring characters on the cusp of innocence and evil.
