Review of Santa Claus Conquers the Martians (1964) by Amanda G — 16 Dec 2007

Oh wow. This was okay in a sixth grade home movie kind of way. Definitely one to skip though unless you really like cheesy B-rated movies. And I mean really cheesy. Martians kidnap Santa Claus to bring Christmas cheer to their Martian children? I mean, who thought of that? The funniest part of the whole thing, was that despite the ridiculousness of the premise, this movie was acted straight.

I think it was just this ridiculousness though that kept me watching until the end. I loved, loved, loved the theme song...so campy. And the karaoke lyrics added just the right touch. I'll give this movie two stars, but again, that is only if you really like B movies.
