Review of San Andreas (2015) by Carlos Z — 30 Nov 2015
Sure, some of the action sequences and other elements are both predictable and unbelievable, however, I found San Andreas completely entertaining. Unlike a similar film like 2012, the science wasn't completely fictional.
Also, the lead characters had excellent chemistry and pulled off some very emotional scenes. Alexandra Daddario portrayed some decent depth from clute, flirtatious and kind - to tough, smart and scared.
I always enjoy Carla Gugino and have always considered her underrated. Dwayne Johnson is not much different than a lot of his roles but he nails this one well, even showing some tough emotional moments.
It's a crazy film in terms of being realistic, but its woven together with some depth, fantastic destruction sequences, a great cast and a whole ot of fun. If you can suspend reality for just shy of 2 hours, I think you'll enjoy this film.
